Introduction

Welcome to the home page of the Multimedia System Journal.

Multimedia System Journal is a well-known international journal with its roots in the ACM SIGMM organization and published by the Springer Verlag. This journal publishes new research results in the well established areas of multimedia systems, multimedia networking, multimedia applications, multimedia security, multimedia education, multimedia coding, and multimedia retrieval systems; and the upcoming areas of haptics, multimedia in mobile and ambient systems, multimedia in healt care, etc.

The journal aims at timely publication of high-quality papers, both on-line at Springer Link and in printed form.

News

This year we awarded for the first time the Best Reviewer 2007 and the Best Editorial Member 2007 at the ACM Multimedia Conference 2008. These awards are annual awards and starting in 2009 we will also award an outstandig paper as the Editor's Choice Paper 2008.

This years winners are: Michael Zink (University of Massachusetts Amhers) and Changsheng Xu (Chinese Academy of Science).
