Overview
The research focus of the Networks and Distributed systems (ND) group is
devising architectures and paradigms for future distributed
applications and services. Our areas of interest include
- Interconnection networks: tightly coupled networks with extreme
requirements to throughput, latency and reliability
-
Adaptation middleware: middleware support for context-aware QoS sensitive applications (mobility, multimedia, Grid Computing)
-
Distribution middleware: publish-subscribe and content delivery in large-scale heterogeneous settings
-
Dependability middleware: replication and transactional middleware for building highly available systems, modeling techniques for characterization
The ND group has been appointed as a top-tier research group
of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. This status
has primarly been achieved through our participation in the
iAd
Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI).
The ND group is affiliated both with the University of Oslo and
Simula Research Laboratory.
