VERDIONE is a 4 year research project funded by the Norwegian Research Council. VERDIONE targets cooperative multimedia applications that blend virtual elements into the real world. VERDIONE's long-term vision focuses on creation of a platform that allows people who are distributed around the globe to interact with each other as though they were co-located. This is a joint project between several Norwegian partners including University of Oslo, Simula Research Laboratory, University of Tromsø, University College Tromsø, Telenor R&I and LIVIDI. Through the World Opera Consortium the project will also imply cooperation with several top-ranked international partners, such as Standford University, McGill University, New York University and the world-renowned opera houses in New York (The Met), Montreal, San Francisco, Malmø, Copenhangen, Stockholm and Milano. |

We are seeking candidates for two PhD positions in the area of Adaptation and Dependability within the project. The objective of the positions is to develop a framework for adaptive and dependable yet scalable middleware solutions that meet the needs of real-time interactive applications. |
